Virginia Nickel's Buttermilk Pie Crust
Instructions

Put flour and shortening into a large bowl.

Cut in shortening until dough looks like coarse crumbs.

Add buttermilk and salt.

Mix well (can use hands).

Let dough rest in refrigerator for 20-30 min.

Roll pie dough out and fit into pie pan.

For a blind pie crust (without a filling), prick crust all over, fill unbaked pie crust with foil and then dry beans, or pie weights.

Chill pie crust for 20 minutes.

Bake at 400-425° until crust is golden.

Remove weights, and cool.
