Split Seconds

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.

  2. In large bowl, beat margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add vanilla and egg; blend well.

  4. Stir in flour and baking powder; mix well.

  5. Divide dough into 4 equal parts.

  6. On lightly floured surface, shape each part into 12-inch roll; place on ungreased cookie sheets.

  7. Using handle of wooden spoon or finger, make depression about ½ inch wide and ¼ inch deep lengthwise down center of each roll.

  8. Fill each roll with 2 tablespoons jelly.

  9. Bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown.

  10. Cool slightly; cut diagonally into strips.

  11. Cool completely on wire racks.
