Grandma McQueen’s Caramels
Instructions

Mix Karo syrup, sugar and 1 cup cream.

Bring to boil and keep boiling while adding the other 2 cups of cream.

Add so slowly that the candy never stops boiling.

Wash down the sides of the pan occasionally.

Cook to the soft-ball stage, washing down the side of the pan.

Test periodically by dropping small pieces in ice water.

Add vanilla.

Pour caramels into prepared pan. (If nuts are used, spread them into pan before adding caramels)
